Epilepsy Free is a non-profit organization that grew out of the desire to improve the lives of those living with epilepsy and seizure disorders. The premise of our foundation was based on a variety of unmet needs brought to our attention by the doctors and patients of The Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group. Patients, parents and doctors came together to build a foundation that would bridge the needs that no other foundation, government agency or private medical group was providing.  From the outset, the plan has been for Epilepsy Free to work alongside the existing foundations assisting with their projects and offering novel supports.  Epilepsy Free was created in 2011 to work towards dispelling myths, creating life opportunities, and continuing to strive towards finding new and improved treatment strategies for all forms of seizure disorders including psychogenic seizures. In other words, Epilepsy Free works to promote Freedom from the limitations that epilepsy and seizure disorders can bring through the funding of projects that lead to growth and improvement.  This is why one of our main objectives every year is to grant as many scholarships as we can to children who have seizures so they can attend summer camp and to adults who have seizures so they can continue their education.
